Lead by Floris “Fundy” Damen, whose connections and insights into the gaming world shape our approach, we are inspired by the games that shaped us.

WHO WE ARE

About the Founder

Floris Damen built his background in coding/game-design and Minecraft mod development content on YouTube.

This led to the growth of an audience of over 10,000,000 followers across YouTube, Twitch, TikTok, and other platforms.

In 2022, using his dev- and YouTube insight, Floris founded Sunfox Studios to build a game for that same audience, which shaped his career.

As CEO, he oversees the company’s forward movement and creative direction, aligning development, vision, and growing the community.

“I wanted to build a game studio, because creating mods and gamemodes helped me realise I have larger aspirations for my audience and the community.”

Goals

Sun Fox Studios is focused on creating games built to last. Rather than following short-term trends, our goal is to design experiences that remain engaging and meaningful for years after release.


This is done by respecting and clearly understanding our audience, holding our work accountable to a standard we stand behind.

A second key part of this approach is User Generated Content (UGC), which we see as a foundation of our development. We aim to give players the tools to share, shape, and extend their own experiences, supporting creative and self-sustained communities over the long run. A true evergreen approach.

How we work

We care about doing things the right way. Sunfox Studios takes a standard approach to internal development.

We work in an agile, sprint-based workflow (scrum-like), with an international team operating full-time on flexible schedules (Monday-Friday).

Our focus is on building reliable systems and ensuring that development remains stable and scalable over the long term as we increase team size.

We place emphasis on clean code architecture, clear documentation, and consistent standards/workflows to keep iteration efficient and forward-moving.

As we strive for the long-term, this approach allows the studio to scale production without losing control of quality, velocity, or long-term maintainability.

About the game

For the past four years, we have been building ‘Everdeep’.

Everdeep is an open-world sandbox exploration experience with a strong focus on atmosphere, discovery, player expression, combat, and challenge. It takes place in a large, procedurally generated environment that encourages players to venture deeper into the caverns over time.

Progression is driven by discovery and systems that allow for a wide range of playstyles and approaches.

As players progress, combat becomes more demanding, encounters grow less predictable, and the world shifts toward a darker, eerie tone. Survival requires mastery of increasingly complex systems.

The project is built on a self-developed custom engine, designed to support the game’s systems, scale, and long-term goals. This allows us to tailor features closely to the experience we’re building, while allowing significant performance optimizations to achieve a further render distance, visual quality, and hardware stability.

We’re intentionally keeping details ambiguous and vague, as the project is currently in stealth development, and we want to retain as much information concealed as possible.
